With the new format this year, it gives us a chance to do that." - head coach, Len BrylewskiNORTHWESTERNHead coach - Tim Miller (Second season)District 11 Class - AALeague - ColonialLast year's record - 7-6 overall (7-6 CL)Key Losses - Zack Caruso, Brandon EdenKey returnees - Brandon Segan (Sr.), Bradley Rex (Sr.), Travis Miller (Sr.)Others to watch - Tyler Wiik (So.)Outlook - Northwestern was a very young team last year. The Tigers have a core of four returners, but will be relying on a handful of sophomores who were on the team last year, but didn't get much playing time as freshman. Look for Northwestern to be competitive in the Colonial League, as it has a good mix of youth and leadership.Quotable - "This is the first year we had to trim the team down with some tryouts because we had so many participants. It's important to get as many of these young people in the rotation to earn varsity letters. They're putting all of their time into it and they deserve it. We have a ton of sophomores that weren't skilled enough last year, but we will count on them this year. The few seniors will play an instrumental role with the team. They've been with the program since I've been here. They've bought into golf as an activity that will enrich the rest of their lives. They're good model citizens in the school who made it cool to come out and play golf," - head coach Tim Miller.PALMERTONCo-head coaches - Alex Knoll and Michael Brennan (First season)District 11 Class - AALeague - ColonialLast year's record - 0-14 overall (0-13 CL)Key Losses - Charles DebskiKey returnees - Jonathan Schwartz (Sr.), John Frace (Jr.)Others to watch - Owen Reis (So.), Eric Baumgardt (So.)Outlook - Knoll will take his first hack at coaching varsity golf with this year's Bombers' squad. The PGA Golf Professional is impressed with the attitude of his golfers who have been working hard on the driving range as well as on their short game. The Bombers don't have a lot of year round golfers. So, Knoll knows all too well that it will take a little time as the season goes along for his Bombers to get their feet wet.Quotable - "My main goal for the year is that at the end of the season I want to see that every golfer has improved in some faucet of their game. So, that can mean, one person learned to be a better driver of the ball, one person became a better putter and another person became a better chipper. But, I want to see each person improve in an atleast one area from the beginning to the end of the season," - head coach Alex Knoll.PLEASANT VALLEYHead Coach - Steve Krechel (25th season)Asssistant coaches - Paul EvansDistrict 11 Class - AAALeague - Eastern Pennsylvania ConferenceLast year's record - 5-9 overall (4-8 EPC)Key Losses - Ryan Adamonis (2014 Times News Player of the Year), Wyatt Custred, Zach Degler, Tim FitzgearldKey Returnees - Nate Coursey (Jr.), Ryan McCrowe (Jr.), Craig Roberts (Sr.), Cody Scully (Sr.), Matt Shafer (Jr.)Others to watch - Josh Schillinger (So.), Riley Held (So.), Ryan Rimple (Jr.), Nick Gatuso (So.)Outlook - Krechel wants his returning core of players to use their knowledge and experience on the courses to fine tune their play on the greens and fairways. The seasoned mentor is also concerned about the new PV golfers and returning players and their play in the quad matches that the EPC initiated this year to start the year off.Quotable - "I got 19 players on the team who are learning and improving in a game they can play the rest of their lives - what more can you ask from a sport," - head coach Steve Krechel.TAMAQUAHead coach - Bill Kaczmarczyk (First season)Assistant coach - MIke ClayDistrict 11 Class - AAALeague - Schuylkill League (Division 1)Last year's record - 3-7Key Losses - Nate MacDonald, Tim Lehman, Anthony LewisKey returnees - Chase Scannell (Sr.), Jon Hadesty (Sr.), Shane Osty (Sr.), Adam Shumgart (Jr.), Gavin Stip (Jr.)Others to watch - Brandon Kemmery (So.), Carson Shoener (So.), Ryan Frederickson (So.), Billy Frederick (Fr.), Colin Krieg (Fr.), Nate Shellhammer (Fr.), Pavio Agosti (Fr.), Tyler Cisbrow (Fr.)Outlook - The Raiders lost a handful of solid seniors, but they have strength in numbers this season. Look for Tamaqua to improve this season under first-year head coach Bill Kaczmarczyk.Quotable - "I enjoy teaching the game to the kids. My main goal is that they will learn it and have it for a lifetime. I want to teach them the proper way to golf, and the wins will come if they work together and work hard at it," - head coach Bill Kaczmarczyk.WEATHERLYHead coach - Mike Limberg (13th season)District 11 Class - ALeague - Schuylkill (Division 2)Last year's record - 0-10 overall (0-10 SL)Key Losses - Ryan Hoffman, Derek CoombsKey returnees - Kyle Osifat (Sr.), Luke Figas (Sr.), Devin Berger (Jr.), Samantha Despirito (Jr.), Martin Chirhowic (Jr.)Others to watch - Kevin Dougherty (Sr.), Alan Knepper, Jr. (So.)Outlook - Kyle Osifat and Luke Fugas, a pair of four year varsity performers, will lead the team. Limberg is also thrilled the Wreckers have a full squad this year, which is the first time in four years that was possible. The seasoned mentor is focused on working on the inexperience of the other players on the squad and hoping that several of those individuals can step up and be the team's No. 4, 5 and 6 players.Quotable - "I hope we can be competitive in some matches. That's what I'm hoping for. But, my goal would be to upset one of the better teams (in the Schuylkill League). I just want to see our squad beat one of the better teams in the league," - head coach Mike Limberg.
