Former candidate cited

Former Republican legislative candidate Larry Padora was found guilty of harassing a child on Tuesday.

Padora, 41, of New Ringgold, was convicted of yelling at another person who was firing pellets.The arresting officer in Padora's case was Frackville state trooper Brian L. Walters from the Frackville Pennsylvania State Police.Presiding over the case was Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier in Orwigsburg.A former chairman of the Schuylkill County Republican Committee, Padora unsuccessfully ran for the GOP nomination for state representative in the 124th district in 2012, losing to Jerry Knowles. He also unsuccessfully ran for the Republican nomination for the clerk of courts this past spring, losing to First Assistant District Attorney Maria T. Casey.He runs the Italian Bakery in Tamaqua.Padora was charged with a $266 fine, which he has since paid.
