Tamaqua's baseball and softball teams both posted mercy-rule wins on Friday.

Palmerton posted victories in baseball and tennis, while other teams gaining wins included Pleasant Valley baseball, Marian baseball and Northern Lehigh softball.BASEBALLTri Valley-TamaquaTamaqua improved to 6-4 on the season with a 10-0 victory over Tri-Valley.Tamaqua's Brett Kosciolek put the Blue Raiders on the scoreboard with a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning. Cope captured the shot put (33-0).Second place finishers were: Monika Shimko of Tamaqua in the 800 (2:30.14); Kaley Kovac of Jim Thorpe in the 3200 meters (12:28.42); Morgan Boyle of Tamaqua in the javlin (126-9) and the Tamaqua 400, 1600 and 3200 meter relay teams.Third place finishers were: Kovac in the 1600 (5:49.23) and Alexis Baddick of Tamaqua in the long jump (14-8).The Jim Thorpe girls finished third behind Hazleton and Pine Grove.
