Blue Bomber boys win pair

The Palmerton boys earned a pair of wins in Colonial League track action Thursday.

The Blue Bombers swept both Salisbury and Pen Argyl.Northwestern's boys and girls swept Pen Argyl while the Northern Lehigh girls earned a split in their CL meet.TRACKNorthwestern-Palmerton-Salisbury-Pen ArgylPalmerton, Salisbury, and Pen Argyl competed in a Colonial League tri-meet against each other. The Palmerton boys picked up a win against Salisbury, 99-51, and against Pen Argyl, 89-61. The girls came up short against Pen Argyl, 84-64, and also lost to Salisbury, 101-40.Jon Anthony was a standout for Palmerton, as he was victorious in the shot put and discus events.Northwestern also ran with the other three teams, but scored strictly against Pen Argyl in a makeup meet from earlier this season.Northwestern swept the Green Knights as the boys won 93-57, and the girls, 116-34.The Lady Tigers' balanced attack was led by Alexis Gawelko, as she was victorious in the 100 and 300 hurdle events. The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Warriors 79.5-70.5, but fell to the Pirates, 102-43.Jess Olewine led Northern Lehigh, winning the long jump, triple jump and pole vault.
