Students celebrate reading

The halls inside the Parkside Education Center on Tuesday were indeed buzzing with excitement.

The reason pupils were all abuzz was due to their involvement in various programs during the Bee a Reader program. The event featured two surprise guest readers: Mike and Steph, B104.1 morning personalities, as well as Teri Delich, a retired Allentown teacher.Holly Sell, Title I Reading Specialist, said the school was selected to have Mike and Steph come read to them.Additionally, Sell said Delich is a huge hit with the students because she brings the stories she reads to them to life. The students also were able to participate in a black-and-yellow day to celebrate. As part of that, they made their own bee-inspired craft that transforms into both a snack and bookmark.
