State Rep. Doyle Heffley issued a reminder about his upcoming outreach hours for veterans and those who have questions on issues best addressed by he federal government.

An American Legion outreach specialist will visit Heffley's district office at 110 North Third St., 2nd floor, in Lehighton from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday. Area veterans may seek assistance during those hours for information pertaining to specific benefits and programs.The Mobile Veterans Center will visit the Lehighton American Legion at 314 Veterans Ave. from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday. Some of the services provided for veterans and their dependents include individual, group, family and bereavement counseling; medical referrals; assistance in applying for Veterans Affairs benefits; employment counseling; guidance and referrals; and alcohol and drug assessments.Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to take advantage of these services.To schedule an appointment or to discuss any other legislative issue, call Heffley's district offices in Lehighton at 610-377-6363 or in Albrightsville at 570-722-8700.
