Palmerton resident George Ashman, left, receives a recognition plaque from Palmerton Area School District Superintendent Scot Engler. The plaque was presented to Ashman for his continuingsupport of the district. Ashman volunteered to participate in thedistrict's new teacher induction program, and went on a bus tourof the district with the new hires, at which time he provided them with a history of the area.
