Kay Bimler of Jim Thorpe will celebrate her 95th birthday next week. She was born on Sept. 10, 1919 to the late Eugene and Isabella Fahey.

She was married to the late George Bimler Sr.She attended the former Immaculate Conception School and Mauch Chunk Catholic High School.She worked as an usherette at the Capital Theater, which is now the Mauch Chunk Opera House, as well as the Newberry 5 & 10, and as a telephone operator.Kay is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jim Thorpe, and a charter member of the Forever Young Individual Club at St. Joseph's.She is the mother of three children: Maryanne, wife of Ronald Hydro of Jim Thorpe; George Jr. of Macungie; and Michael of Mechanicsburg.She has five grandchildren: Ryan Hydro, Erin Hartman, Erica Shover, Susan Capaldi and Mary Bimler.She has six great-grandchildren: Tyler, Sarah, and Leah Hartman, Colton Bimler, Catherine Capaldi and Vivian Shover.
