Pocono Medical Center is offering free events to help keep people healthy.

• An oral cancer screening will be at 6 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Valerie M. Hodge Memorial Dental Center, 175 East Brown St., Building 2, Suite 114, East Stroudsburg.The screening is for those age 18 and older with no history of oral cancer or precancerous conditions. Registration is required. Call 570-476-3750 to register through Thursday.• A free program, Shine a Light on Lung Cancer, to honor those with the disease, will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14. To register, visit shinealightonlungcancer.org.• The 23rd annual Christmas tree lighting will be at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Hughes Cancer Center. Santa, hot cocoa, cookies and musical entertainment by local high school students will be provided.Visitors are asked to bring canned goods or packaged food to donate to Monroe County food banks. The event is sponsored by the Pocono Health foundation, the Pocono Medical Center and the Rotary Club of the Smithfields.
