Two Schuylkill hikes scheduled

Two hikes have been scheduled for two Schuylkill County state parks.

On Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. a hike will be held to explore the mountain behind Locust Lake State Park and visit the Silver Creek fire tower. This hike is 8 miles in length and moderate in difficulty. The pine stands and brush are perfect habit for birds and other wildlife. Participants will meet at the visitor's parking lot at the park, which is located before the contact station. Bring a lunch and dogs are welcome but all pets must be leashed and get along with people and other pets.The second hike will be on the Crow, Lake View and Spirit trails at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 28. The hike is 8 miles in length and moderate in difficulty. The hike combines the best of the trails in Tuscarora State Park. Meet in the Crow Trail parking lot off Tuscarora Mountain Road.
