State police investigate Monroe crashes

State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated on Monroe County roads.

A two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Weir Lake Road and Pheasant Road in Ross Township at 6:05 p.m. on Sept. 22. Troopers said Chandler Joseph Snyder, 21, of Saylorsburg, was driving a Freightliner tanker truck northbound when Lisa Marie Strohlein, 28, of Kunkletown, driving a Mitsubishi Galant, pulled out in front of him to turn onto Weir Lake Road, from Pheasant Road, causing a collision.No one was reported injured. The Galant had to be towed. Troopers cited Strohlein for causing the crash.A one-vehicle crash occurred at 10:20 a.m. on Sept. 25 along Meixsell Valley Road in Ross Township. Troopers said Alicia R. Brickey, 17, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero eastbound when the vehicle left the road on the south side and struck a concrete barrier with the left side. Brinkley was not injured.A one-vehicle crash occurred at 1:04 p.m. Sept. 26 along Lower Smith Gap Road in Eldred Township.Troopers said David A. Domchek, 43, of Northampton, was driving a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound and attempting to negotiate a slight right curve when he overnegotiated, causing the front wheel to enter a grassy area along the shoulder. Domchek lost control of the bike, which continued to travel into the grassy area for about 50 feet before coming to rest.Domchek was injured and take to St. Luke's University Hospital-Bethlehem. He was cited for the crash.A two-vehicle crash occurred at 11:17 a.m. on Sept. 30 at the intersection of Mountain View Drive and Short Lane in Polk Township.Shawn M. Bailey, 30, of Gilbert, was driving a 2005 GMC Canyon southbound on Mountain View while Janet M. Cardello, 62, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet eastbound on Short Lane. Bailey failed to see Cardello making a left turn into a driveway and a collision occurred.Neither Bailey nor his passengers, Justin Conklin, 5, and Jacquelyn Conklin, 2, were injured. Cardello received a minor injury and was treated at the scene by West End ambulance personnel.Bailey was cited for the crash.Troopers said Roy D. Burger Jr., 21, of Palmerton, was driving a 1984 Chevrolet S10 pickup along Kunkletown Road at 6 a.m. on Oct. 3 in Ross Township, when it left the road and his vehicle rolled over. Burger was not injured.A one-vehicle crash occurred at 12:52 p.m. on Oct. 5 along Silver Springs Road, near Route 209, in Polk Township. Troopers said Daniel R. Engler, 70, of Kunkletown, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado truck northbound when the vehicle left the road on the east side. Engler tried to countersteer, crossed both lanes, and struck a utility pole on the west side.Engler was not injured but damages were termed severe to the vehicle. He was cited for the crash.A hit-and-run crash was reported at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 6. Troopers said Terry V. Petitto, 65, of Lake Harmony, was southbound on Route 534 in Polk Township and negotiating a left-hand curve when a northbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck her side mirror. The other driver continued northbound. Petitto was not injured and damages were minor to her vehicle.A one-vehicle crash occurred at 7:55 a.m. on Oct. 7 along Stone Hill Road in Ross Township. Troopers said Alexis M. Moore, 19, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2002 Hyundai Elantra southbound and negotiating a left turn in a downhill grade when she went onto the shoulder and struck a tree after making a 180-degree turn.Moore was not injured. She was cited for the crash.
