The entrance point that leads to Palmerton Borough Hall has a new look.

New steps have been added to the front of the building at 443 Delaware Ave. to replace the older set."It was done because we kept having a lot of maintenance issues with the other ones," borough Manager Rodger Danielson said. "They were laid brick; every year we were replacing more and more brick."Danielson said the contractor for the project was George W. Spalding Jr. Construction of Kunkletown. The project took about a week to complete, he said.It cost about $9,500, said Danielson, who added that the borough paid for the project out of its capital budget."We largely did it for maintenance safety reasons," he said. "Right now, we're absolutely pleased with both the condition and the looks."
