Six emergency response units hold demonstration

Volunteers from six emergency response teams in Schuylkill County joined forces in an open house and demonstration Wednesday hosted by Hometown Fire Company, 45 Mahanoy Ave.

The event featured fire prevention techniques and information for family protection, including how to address a grease fire, fire extinguisher education, ladder truck demonstration, cutting a vehicle with hydraulic rescue equipment, escaping a burning house, and numerous related activities.Taking part were members of Hometown Fire Company, Ryan Township Fire and Rescue, Quakake Volunteer Fire Company, Hometown Fire Police, Hometown Police and McAdoo Fire Company.
