Summit Hill teen faces DUI charges after crash

Mahoning Township say charges are pending after a 17-year-old from Summit Hill crashed into a traffic signal pole at the Mill Road intersection at Route 443.

On Nov. 24, Mahoning Township Police investigated the incident in which the juvenile driving a 2007 Toyota hit the pole.

A witness saw the juvenile concealing items in the juvenile's pants. Officers found the juvenile had concealed a can of Ultra Duster, and Delsym cough medicine. It was discovered that the concealed items, along with a LED pen, and a pink iPhone speaker had been stolen from Walmart on Route 443.

The juvenile was found to have been huffing the Ultra Duster before the accident. The juvenile was also under the influence of alcohol.

Charges are pending the results of a blood test.
