Increased postal rates have been established by the 80th Congress and will go into effect on Jan. 1. Special delivery rates will be boosted from a minimum rate of 3 cents to 15 cents, and a maximum rate of 35 cents to 45 cents, based on weight.

Money orders now sold for between 6 and 22 cents will be upped to a minimum of 35 cents.Postage on third class mail, now 1 and 1/2 cents for 2 ounces will be increased to 2 cents for the first 2 ounces with an additional cent per additional ounce.
