Met-Ed rate hike hearings scheduled

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission public hearings regarding electricity rate increase requests have been rescheduled.

Hearings are now scheduled for 1 and 6 p.m. Monday at East Stroudsburg University's Innovation Center Room.Met-Ed is asking for a rate increase of 11.5 percent, or $151.9 million for Met-Ed consumers. For the average customer using 1,000 KWH per month, the prospective increase would add around $21 to their bill.For more information, contact Rep.
