A turkey flying across Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County, was blamed for a one-vehicle crash.

State police at Fern Ridge said John Parrinello, 56, of Wanaque, New Jersey, was driving a 2007 Dodge Durango eastbound at 7:09 p.m. Saturday when a turkey flew across the road and struck the windshield of the Durango.

Glass fragments from the smashed windshield struck Parrinello on the left hand causing lacerations.

Parrinello did not require immediate medical attention.
