Rader wins GOP slot

Former Jackson Township supervisor Jack Rader Jr. narrowly won for the Republican slot for the 176th legislative district Tuesday in Monroe County, with 1,130 votes over Jim Becker's 1,111 votes. Hope Smith ran unopposed for the Democratic slot with 1,817.

Mario M. Scavello ran unopposed for the Republican slot for senator in the General Assembly's new 40th District, a 4-year term, and earned 4,365 votes.Mark Aurand won the Democratic ticket with 2,185 votes. Aurand, an attorney from Lower Nazareth Township, is a first-time political candidate. Scott Parsons received 1,443 votes and Joe Capozzolo, 1,054.For representative in the General Assembly's 189th District, 2-year term, both Republican Rosemary Brown and Democratic Elizabeth Forrest were unopposed.Committee position winners in West End Townships:• Polk Township: Republicans David L.
