It came down to the last event, but after all the dust settled and the music stopped, it was the North Carbon County seniors, comprising Panther Valley, Weatherly and Jim Thorpe senior centers, who came out on top in this year's Carbon County Senior Games.
The final score was North Carbon County, 694; South Carbon County, 678.
Going into the final event, 18 points separated the teams, with South leading, but North rallied, earning 38 points for the three dances.
The results for Wednesday's events, which included bingo, pinochle, rummy, the polka, slow dancing and the rock 'n' roll are:
Bingo: Diann Stephens of Jim Thorpe, gold; Francis O'Donnell of Jim Thorpe, silver; and Tony Mazzocchi of Jim Thorpe, bronze.

Polka: Marge Antiga of Panther Valley and Darlyne Hinkle of Weatherly, gold; Henry Long and Fran Haas of Lehighton, silver; and Linda Daubenspeck and Jean Fisher of Lehighton, bronze.
Slow dance: Howard and June Farber of Jim Thorpe, gold; John and Connie DiJohn of Jim Thorpe, silver; and Tom Zuber and Sue Dopira of Panther Valley, bronze.

The games will conclude today at 4 p.m., with a banquet at Whispering Pines at Penn Forest Township Fire Company No. 1 in Jim Thorpe.
