Connell McCall Memorial Fishing Tourney set

Preparations have been made for the 4th Annual Connell McCall Memorial Fishing Tournament to be held on Saturday, May 12, at the Nesquehoning Creek, sponsored by the Nesquehoning Conservation Club. Helping to make the event successful are members of the Friends of Connell McCall and the Emmett McCall Family, Lansford, as well as area businesses. Pictured above, Bob Perrin, back-center, a member of the Friends of Connell McCall, presents an envelope containing donations to the club, represented by Nick Digiglio, back, second from left, while looking on are Bob Davidovich, back-left, of Panther Valley Hardware, a steady financial supporter of the event, George Brimmer, second from right, member of Friends of Connell McCall, and Emmett McCall, right, father of the late Lansford resident who was an avid fisherman. In front are George Brimmer IV and Morgan Brimmer. Perrin said he and members of the Friends applaud the Nesquehoning Conservation Club for once again sponsoring the fishing derby, as well as the "great job" it has done in its mission is to promote field and stream conservation and good sportsmanship, help stimulate public awareness of fishing in the Nesquehoning Creek, make sure conservation codes are followed and promote community involvement in field and stream activities. The club was funded in 2005.
