The Concourse Club of Palmerton honored Arissa Marie Snyder of Palmerton as a Guiding Star for March.

The Guiding Star is chosen by a committee of high school teachers of the Palmerton Area School District.A Guiding Star must be a female in the top 25 percent of the senior class and involved in both school and community activities.Arissa is the daughter of Justine and Michael Snyder. She has a brother, Brett.Her hobbies include reading, hiking and spending time with friends and family. Her interests include cheerleading, science and animals.Arissa is a member of Student Council, National Honor Society, Environmental Club, track and field and cheerleading.Her community activities include volunteering with Special Olympics and at Lehigh Valley Hospital.Her plans include attending Penn State University Park to major in nursing to eventually become a nurse anesthetist.The Concourse Club presented her with a certificate, an engraved Guiding Star charm and $100.
