A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of hit-and-run following an incident that occurred at 8:15 p.m. Thursday.
State police at Frackville said Joseph Polaconis, 26, of Shenandoah, was operating a 2000 Mazda truck westbound on Route 54 in Butler Township, just east of Girardville, when he lost control. The truck went onto the berm and struck a utility pole causing severe front right side damages to the body, wheel, and suspension of the truck.
Polaconis then left the scene and drove to Girardville where he was located by borough police.
Troopers said Polaconis sustained a bloody nose in the crash. A 3-year-old male in the truck with him in a child safety seat was not injured.
