Schuylkill County commissioners on Wednesday approved contracts for providers to the Office of Senior Services.

Three-year contracts, with the option to renew up to five years, with:• Diakon Child Family and Community Ministries: $3,123,086.• Penn Kasher, Pottsville, for after-hours call center: $12,000.• Schuylkill County Transportation Authority, Saint Clair, for transportation services: $214,018.80.• Accessing Independence: $1,092,708 for 60,841 hours of personal care services at $17.96 an hour.• ReDCo Group, Pottsville: $778,579 for 12,793 days of adult day care services at $60.86 a day (includes cost of meal).• Wyomissing Behavioral Analysts, Wyomissing, Berks County: $54,000 for psychological consultation services.• Cynthia Reidler: $9,750 for occupational therapy services at $65 an hour.• Safety Care Technologies, Reading, Berks County: $12,000 for personal emergency response system for $24.95 a month per consumer for installation and monitoring, and $39.95 a month per consumer for installation of PERS unit equipped with a fall sensor with monitoring.• Lamar Schwartz, Tremont: $15,000 for 300 hours of housing specialist services at $50 an hour.• Carol Miller Schaeffer, Pottsville: $15,000 for 150 hours of physician consultation services at $100 an hour.Two-year contracts:• William J. Burke, Shenandoah: $22,500 for 250 hours at $90 an hour.• Lori A. Schafer Guzick, Pottsville: $22,500 for 250 hours of legal service at $90 an hour.• Joseph Nahas, Frackville: $22,500 for 250 hours of legal service at $90 an hour.One-year contracts:• Advocacy Alliance, Scranton, Lackawanna County: $262,854 for various services.• Preferred Meal Systems, Berkeley, Illinois: $522,725 for the purchase of 145,000 home delivered and congregate meals at $3.605 a meal.Commissioners also approved a five year, $8,838 lease/purchase agreement with Motorola Solutions for the prison for two APX 6000 VHF high-power portable two-way low bandwidth radios.Commissioners also approved one-year contracts for the Children and Youth Services agency:• James Conville and Lewis, Williams & Caravan, both of Schuylkill Haven: For legal services at a per unit rate of $3,675, plus extraordinary expenses at a per unit rate of $75.
