Jim Thorpe's two Little League teams both advanced in their respective District 18 tournaments with wins Thursday.

DISTRICT 18 11-12 LLJim Thorpe-Hazle Twp.A well-pitched game by Sebastian Rodriguez and timely hitting helped Jim Thorpe edge past Hazle Township, 3-2.Rodriguez tossed five innings, allowing just three hits while striking out seven. Colin Binder pitched the sixth inning, fanning two, to earn the save.Nick Goff provided Thorpe with its first run, blasting a solo homer in the second inning.The winners then bunched three hits together in the third to account for their other runs. Noah Snisky doubled and came home on Jake Schwartz's double. Nate Rosahac followed with an RBI single.DISTRICT 18 9-10 LLJim Thorpe-TamaquaAnthony Voto had a big day at the plate and earned the pitching win as Jim Thorpe outscored Tamaqua, 16-12.Voto finished with three hits, including a double and home run, and knocked in three runs.The winners also received three hits and two RBIs from DJ Richebacker while James Chimenti added two hits and knocked in a pair of runs.For Tamaqua, Brady Sherry had three hits. Anthony Coccio and Teddy Ross each chipped in two.
