The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission (ESRC) summer basketball league concluded its third week of action on Wednesday evening at the North and Middle Ward Playground in Tamaqua with Vesuvio's sitting atop the standings with a perfect 2-0 record.

Meanwhile, Batter's Box and Martin's Printing both won two games apiece this past week, and remain hot on the tail of the defending ESRC Summer League champion.MONDAY'S RESULTSVesuvio's-Dom N Ali'sVesuvio's started the week off with an 83-73 win over Dom N Ali's to keep the league's only undefeated record intact.Mark Scarcella led the Vesuvio's with 25 points. Danny Maguschack and Carlos Rivas scored 19 and 18 respectively.Matt Yaich finished with an impressive 33 points for Dom N Ali's.Sherry Dental-Batter's BoxBatter's Box found itself in another thriller on Monday, as it escaped with a 58-57 win against Sherry Dental.Erick Trabal put Batter's Box up by one on a foul shot with only seconds to play. Kyle McGee's last-second desperation shot missed its mark as time expired.Sherry Dental's Mike Backo and Batter's Box's Bejtullah Mehmeti led all scorers with 19 points apiece.Martin's Printing-Lucky's DeliThe two teams played a tight first half before Martin's Printing pulled away from Lucky's Deli by a final score of 74-50.Parris Cleveland led Martin's Printing with 25 points, while Brandon DeCosmo scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half.Eric Carter led Lucky's Deli with 11 points.WEDNESDAY'S RESULTSBatter's Box-Dedicated FitnessAfter three difficult games to start the season, Batter's Box was able to get some breathing room with a 68-52 victory over Dedicated Fitness.Aaron Mantz led Batter's Box with 20 points and four three-pointers.Jeff Yordy led a brief comeback effort with 15 points in the second half for Dedicated Fitness.E M Management-Dom N Ali'sWith the game delayed due to a traffic accident on Route 309, E Mortgage Management was able to pull away late for a 69-59 victor over Dom N Ali's.Dom N Ali's was able to close the gap to three points before E Mortgage Management responded with a 7-0 run paced by Jeremy Frey's 4-for-4 effort from the charity stripe. Frey led E Mortgage Management with 23 points.Matt Yaich paced Dom N Ali's with 19 points.Martin's Printing-DJ 1:01Martin's Printing defeated DJ1:01 68-61 to keep its three-game win streak intact.
