Assailant and victim arrested

Two people were arrested in Tamaqua following a fight on June 16.

Officers were dispatched to the area of East Broad and Swatara streets at 11:30 a.m., for a fight in progress. On scene, they found three witnesses who stated that Richard E. Michlovsky, 52, of 261 W. Rowe St., Tamaqua, had been punching an Allison Sanders in the face. The woman's face had visible red marks and her broken glasses were on the ground.Michlovsky was arrested and arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer on charges of simple assault and harassment. Bail was set at $10,000. He was unable to post the required 10 percent and was taken to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville.Meanwhile, a records check indicated Sanders was wanted on an outstanding warrant. She was searched and officers found drug paraphernalia in her possession, She too was taken to the county prison, on the warrant. Possession of drug paraphernalia charges will be filed at a later date.
