Schuylkill County commissioners on Wednesday approved a number of amendments to contracts between the Office of Senior Services and providers for fiscal year 2013-2014.

• An increase of $8,975 to the contract with Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries of Allentown due to the allowance of a 1 percent increase through agingcategorical funds-block grant supplement and $34,676.99 for Bravo awards, Basic Grant SpecialInitiative and $679.94 for MIPPA grant Community Initiative Funding for a total of $43,651.99.• An increase of $1,000 to the contract with Consolidated Training and Services of Pottsville to cover additional enrollment slots in the senior aide program.Commissioners also approved contracts that run from July 1 to June 30, 2017, with the option to renew up to five years:• A program funded contract with Mid Penn Legal for senior employment for a total contract of $330,045.They also include fee-for-service contracts with:• Tamaqua Adult Day Care, of Tamaqua, for 10,500 days of adult day care services at $60.86 per day (includes cost of meal) for a contract total of $639,030.• Avenues of Pottsville for 3,938 days of adult day care services at $60.86 per day (includes cost of meal) for a contract total of $239,712.• Catholic Charities/ Holy Family Adult Day Care Center of Allentown for 12,357 days of adult day care services at $60.86 per day (includes cost of meal) for a contract total of $752,034.• Arn of Hazleton for 15,600 hours of personal care services at $18.28 per hour for a total contract of $285,168.• All Care of Hazleton for 3,000 hours of home health services at $37.39 per hour and 45 hours of physical therapy/speech therapy/occupational therapy at $77 per hour for a total contract of $115,650.• Lehigh Valley Visiting Nurses of Whitehall for 3,000 hours of home health licensed practical nurse services at $44.08 per hour, 750 hours of registered nurse services at $66.20, and 30 units of physical therapy at $80.80 per hour, 30 units of occupational therapy at $85.16 per hour and 30 units of speech therapy at $86.88 per hour for a total contract of $189,475.20.• Maximum Care of Whitehall for 60,000 hours of personal care services at $18 per hour for a total contract of $1,080,000.• Addus Healthcare for 54,177 hours of personal care services at $17.96 per hour for a total contract of $973,020.• Aaron Healthcare for 24,000 hours of personal care services at $20.52 per hour for a total contract of $492,480.• Caregivers America for 150 hours of personal care services at $17.96 per hour for a total contract of $2,694.• Home Health & Support Services (Lori's Angels) for 36,000 hours of personal care services at $20 per hour for a total contract of $720,000.• Home Care of Eastern PA (Home Instead Senior Care) for 4,000 hours of personal care services at $17.96 per hour for a total contract of $215,520.• Compass Rose of Minersville for 30,000 hours of personal care services at $20 per hour for a total contract of $600,000.• Lifeline Systems Company of Framington, Massachusetts, for personal emergency response system for $25 per month per consumer for installation and monitoring for a total contract of $12,000.In other seniorservices matters,commissioners accepted the resignations of Retired and Senior VolunteerProgram advisory board members Mike Micko and Marsha DeForest.They then approved Edward L. Hauck of Pottsville to fill Micko's unexpired term through Dec. 31, 2016, and Eileen Barlow of Shenandoah to fill Deforest's unexpired term through Dec. 31, 2014.
