A number of vacancies have been filled on a Carbon County board.

During the county commissioners' meeting on Thursday, the board approved six appointments and two reappointments on the Children and Youth Advisory Board.They include: Mary M. Figura of Nesquehoning and John Marchione of Jim Thorpe, who will sit on the board until May 1, 2015; Elaine J. Koons of Lehighton and David F. McAndrew Jr. of Summit Hill, until May 1, 2016; and Sally Watson of Lehighton and Suzan L. Whiteley of Jim Thorpe, until May 1, 2017.Dr. Samuel Dolgopol of Lehighton and Kathy Juna of Lansford were reappointed for three-year terms to May 1, 2017.In other matters, the commissioners voted on the following personnel actions:• Resignation: Cody L. Mann of Jim Thorpe, summer laborer, Buildings and Grounds, effective June 13.• Hire: Samantha Jones of Summit Hill as park attendant at Mauch Chunk Lake Park; Adam J. Nevenglosky of Nesquehoning as summer laborer for Buildings and Grounds; and Thomas Youngkin of Lehighton as summer laborer for the Liquid Fuels Summer Program, all effective June 16.• Change of status: Marykate Sherkness of Tresckow, from park attendant to lifeguard at Mauch Chunk Lake Park, effective June 14.
