Lehighton woman facing more burglary charges

A Lehighton woman who already is awaiting trial for alleged burglaries in Summit Hill, Mahoning Township and Lehighton has been jailed on another burglary count.

Stephanie Lill, 26, of 318 NE Alley, Lehighton, was arraigned Monday before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek on charges she burglarized a home in Summit Hill on Sept. 25.Kosciolek set bail on Lill at $40,000.She has been charged with four felony charges: Burglary - overnight accommodation, person present; criminal trespass; receiving stolen property; and theft by unlawful taking.The charges are felonies because of the value of the items taken during the burglary, police said.The arresting officer is patrolman Jeff Ohl of the Summit Hill Police Department.According to Chief of Police Joseph Fittos, a Summit Hill homeowner discovered at about 11 p.m. on Sept. 25 that their house had been burglarized.Police said cash, jewelry and electronic items were taken during the burglary.Fittos said the investigation has been ongoing.Meanwhile, Mahoning Township police also were investigating burglaries and had in their possession electronic items belonging to the Summit Hill victim, whose name wasn't listed in the report.Fittos said the electronic items were obtained from Lill.This is the fifth time this year Lill is facing burglary charges. She also had faced burglary charges in December.In previous burglaries, she was arrested along with Randy Edgar, 26, of Lehighton, who has the same address as Lill.In the most recent incident, she told police she acted alone.Fittos said police are continuing their investigation to determine if Lill might possibly have been involved in other burglaries in Carbon County.
