Marian baseball players honored

Marian baseball team coaches and award winners were honored at a recent banquet. They include, front row, from left, Dante Salerno, Austin Paisely (Most Improved Player), Anthony Agosti (Gold Glove Award in memory of Joe Mushock), Frank Nietz (Leadership Award and All-State Team Award), Nick Meneghan (Rob Roache Going the Distance Award), Peter Baddick (Andy Sherkness Pitching Award and All-State Team Award), Luke Stawick (Gold Glove Award in memory of Joe Mushock), and Nick Lubishin. Back row, head coach Jeff Nietz, coach Pete Salerno, K.J. Snerr, Chris Weber (Delrose Awards Sportsmanship Award), Aaron DeAngelo (Delrose Awards Sportsmanship Award), Josh Inama, Dan Keer, coach Chris Higgins and coach Ken Snerr. Also part of the coaching staff were Curt Gimbi, Tony Radocha, Peter Radocha and Al Bostdorf. Salerno, Paisley, Agosti, Nietz, Baddick, Stawick, Lubishin, Snerr, Weber, Inama and Keer all received Broken Bat Awards for multiple hit games. Frank Nietz was also honored for setting Marian's career stolen base record whle coach Jeff Nietz, who retired following the season, received an appreciation plaque, a photographic mural, his framed jersey, and a video in recognition for his 30 years coaching baseball at Marian.
