Schuylkill chief probation officer retires

Schuylkill County commissioners on Wednesday accepted the retirements of chief probation officer John Richmond of Butler Township.

Joseph Szeliga of Minersville was named to replace Richmond at $73,045 a year, the same salary Richmond earned. Commissioners also hired Neil Stefanisko of Gordon, who was promoted to chief deputy adult probation officer at $63,241 a year.They approved the hiring of Lisa Reese of Shenandoah as full-time assistant director of nursing at the county nursing home at Rest Haven at $54,992 a year. Commissioners also hired Connie Hair of Pottsville as head nurse at Rest Haven, at $21.95 an hour, and Kathleen Gingrich of Lebanon as a full-time licensed practical nurse at $16.96 an hour.Commissioners approved the retirement of Office of Senior Services aging case aide two Susan Conner of West Penn Township.They approved the transfer of Marcy Kleckner of Orwigsburg from per diem clerk one in the Human Resources office to the job of office support/general at $11.09 an hour, and the transfer of Theresa Zubris of New Philadelphia from the Human Resources office support/general job to clerk typist one in the Tax Claim Bureau at $13.31 an hour.Other personnel moves included:Adult Probation Department: Holly Chapman of Minersville was transferred from probation officer one to probation officer aide at $18.35 an hour; and Jevin DiCello of Kaska was promoted to probation officer one at $21.03 an hour.Domestic Relations: Transfers of Michele Lynn Reider of West Cocalico Township from conference officer one to enforcement officer one at $24.25 an hour, and Russell Pellegrino of Frackville from enforcement officer one to conference officer one at $22.75 an hour.District Attorney: Jordan Wartman of Ryan Township was appointed as an unpaid intern.Prison: James Mansell of Tamaqua resigned from his $23.35 an hour correctional officer job.Rest Haven: Samantha Ruff of Orwigsburg resigned from her $12.55 an hour job as a part-time nurses' aide.Sheriff's Office: Harry James Kistler of Hazleton was appointed as an unpaid intern.
