State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating two crashes on Schuylkill County roads over the past weekend.

A one-vehicle crash was reported at 3:38 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, along SR901 (Gordon Nagle Trail), in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Jasper Rabbitz, 24, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 1993 Jeep Cherokee westbound when he lost control on the snow-covered road.

The Jeep went onto the berm where it struck an embankment. After impact the Jeep overturned and traveled in a northwest direction before coming to rest on the driver's side facing southeast.

Rabbitz was not injured. He was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

A two-vehicle crash was reported at 10:29 a.m. on Sunday, Jan 20, along SR209 in Port Carbon borough.

Troopers said Regina A. Redner, 30, of New Ringgold, was driving a 2001 Ford Escape northbound while Lawrence Palko, 65, of Pottsville, was southbound driving a 2012 Honda Accord.

Redner was negotiating a right-hand curve when her vehicle slid into the southbound lane and into the path of Palko. The Ford struck the Honda on the front bumper with its front bumper.

Redner, Palko, and his passenger, Michael Palko Jr., 78, also of Pottsville, were all not injured. Damages were termed significant to both vehicles.

Troopers said Redner was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic, driving while her license is suspended, and not wearing a seat belt.
