Holy Trinity Happenings

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will hold worship services with Holy Communion at 8 and 10:45 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 19.

Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. The 10:45 a.m. service will be a brief service so as to allow time for the annual congregational meeting, which will follow the service.

Holy Trinity Circle of Angels will be participating in the Polar Plunge of 2014, to be held Jan. 18 at Scott's Park at Larry Holmes Drive and 3rd Street, Easton. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the plunge will be at noon.

Over 60 Club

The Palmerton Over 60 Club will meet at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Palmerton Borough Hall.

Food Pantry

The Palmerton Food Pantry will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17. The food pantry is located at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton.

Community Meal

A free community meal will be served from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. All are welcome.

Al-Anon Support Groups

Alateen support group will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, for teens of families struggling with alcohol.

Adult Al-Anon, and AA meetings, are at the same time. The groups meet ever Tuesday at Faith Alive United Methodist Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton.

Snow make-up day

The Palmerton Area School District has announced that schools will be open on Friday, Feb. 14 and Thursday, April 17 as snow make-up days.
