Tavern gaming info available next week

A series of informational sessions will be held across the state to detail changes to Pennsylvania's Small Games of Chance Act, according to Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon).

The sessions involve Act 90, which Gov. Tom Corbett signed into law in November. The additions to the Small Games of Chance Act allow the owners of most retail liquor licenses to apply for a new Tavern Gaming License. That new license will give the owners the ability to offer tavern raffles for charitable causes, along with pull-tab games and tavern daily drawings. The informational sessions were organized by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, in conjunction with the Gaming Control Board, Department of Revenue, and the State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement.A session will be held locally Friday, Jan. 17 at the Best Western Plus, Lehigh Valley Hotel and Conference Center, 300 Gateway Drive, Bethlehem. Each session will start at 1 p.m. and end no later than 3 p.m. They are intended only for those interested in applying for tavern gaming licenses. Anyone with questions can call 717-783-8250.
