State police at Frackville reported investigating three crashes, one a hit-and-run, on Schuylkill County roadways over the past weekend.
A one-vehicle crash occurred about 1:59 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, along Interstate 81 in Foster Township. Troopers said Andrew C. Beyer, 22, of Saint Cloud, Fla., was driving a 2009 Ford Focus northbound in the right lane when he lost control on the snow-covered road. The car crossed over the left lane and went onto the west berm where it collided into a tree.
Beyer was not injured. The car had to be towed from the scene. Beyer was cited for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
A one-vehicle crash was reported about 10:25 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, along Ringtown Boulevard, in Union Township. Troopers said Tia L. Knapp, 21, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser northbound and lost control while negotiating a left curve. The car spun and left the road on the left side and struck an embankment.
Knapp and her passenger, Chuianne L. Mummey, 20, of Palmyra, Lebanon County, were injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. Damages were moderate to the car, which had to be towed.
Troopers cited Knapp for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Troopers investigated a hit-and-run accident that occurred at Main Street, (Route 4030), in Gilberton borough.
Troopers said an unknown vehicle was traveling westbound when the driver lost control. The vehicle went onto the berm and struck a PPL utility pole in front of 437 Main St.
After impact the driver fled the scene. The incident occurred about 3:01 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5.
