State police report DUI arrests

State police at Lehighton reported on the following driving under the influence arrests made by troopers.

• On Nov. 27 about 7:12 p.m. troopers stopped Joseph Andrew Michael, 24, of Palmerton, along Harrity Road at Fairyland Road, in Franklin Township, Carbon County, for a traffic violation. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.• On Nov. 30 about 2:02 a.m. Kyle D. Silfee, 23, of East Stroudsburg, was stopped along SR209 at Stofflet Road, in Hamilton Township, Monroe County, for a traffic violation. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest.• On Dec. 2 about 9:58 a.m. troopers stopped Ryan Pasanen, 34, of Effort, in the area of 1032 Weir Lake Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for multiple traffic violations. He was found to be under the influence. He was also found have in his possession a pill bottle with an altered label. The bottle contained 94 pills not matching the prescription on the bottle. He was also charged with drug possession and submitted to a blood test at the Palmerton hospital.• Michael Stein, 39, of Lehighton, is facing additional charges to DUI. On Dec. 4 about 8:55 p.m. Stein was operating a Honda Accord that struck a guard rail along Pohopoco Road, near Lakeview Road, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County. He was found to be under the influence and was arrested.• He became combative with troopers and kicked troopers Michael Sofranko and Brian Shandra, before being subdued by force. He was taken to the Lehighton hospital for injuries resulting from his resisting arrest. He was charged with two counts each of aggravated assault and resisting arrest along with DUI and summary offenses.• On Dec. 7 about 9:23 p.m. Christopher Andrew Strauss, 24, of Lehighton, was stopped along Eighth St., in Lehighton, for vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest.• Nathan Boyer, 35, of Dallas, Luzerne county, was stopped in the area of 7155 Interchange Road, in Towamensing Township, about 1:48 p.m. on Dec. 8 for a traffic violation. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was placed under arrest.• On Dec. 18 about 9:28 p.m. Patrick Mark Stofanak, 18, of Kunkletown, was stopped along SR209 at Lower Greenhill Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County, for an equipment violation. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was placed under arrest.• On Dec. 20 about 10:31 p.m. troopers stopped Matthew Scott Fritzinger, 24, of Lehighton, along SR209 at Packerton Hollow Drive, in Mahoning Township, Carbon County, for a traffic violation. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was placed under arrest. He was taken to the Lehighton hospital for a blood test.• Anthony Albunio, 22, of Brodheadsville, was driving along Laurel Drive, in Ross Township, Monroe County, about 4:29 a.m. on Dec. 21 when his vehicle slid off the road. He was found to be under the influence and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. On Dec. 22, about 9:58 p.m. Eric P. Haupt, 42, of Lehighton, was stopped in the area of Bridge St. and SR209 in Lehighton for a traffic violation. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.• Carmine Macchiarola, 33, of Effort, was arrested for DUI about 6:15 p.m. on Dec. 22 at 200 Vista Court, in Towamensing Township. He was found to be in possession drug paraphernalia and was charged with that count.• On Dec. 25 at 8:05 p.m. Timothy Scott Green, 48, of Kunkletown, was stopped along Kunkletown Road, at the Eldred Elementary School, in Eldred Township, Monroe County, for a traffic violation. He was found to be under the influence and taken to the Palmerton hospital for a blood test.• Pete Andrianopoulos, 47, of Albrightsville, was stopped about 2 a.m. on Dec. 29 along SR534 in Polk Township for a traffic violation. He was found to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest.• Jonathan Todd Creveling, 42, of Lehighton, was stopped about 9:48 p.m. on Dec. 31 along S. Sixth St., in Lehighton, for multiple traffic violations. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was placed under arrest. He was also learned he was wanted by the Carbon County Sheriff's Department for failure to appear and was subsequently placed in the county prison on the outstanding warrant.• David Robert Smith, 42, of Gilbert, was stopped about 9:15 p.m. on Jan. 1 along Old Route 115, at Kunkletown Road, in Ross Township, for a suspicion of DUI. He was taken to the Palmerton hospital for treatment of a dog bite that occurred earlier.• About 3 a.m. on Jan. 1 Edward Blaze Sawicz Jr., 28, of Kunkletown, was stopped at Jonas Road at Birch Hollow Road, in Polk Township, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.• A 17-year-old male juvenile from Allentown, was stopped along SR248 about 12:40 a.m. on Jan. 1 in Parryville, Carbon County, for various traffic violations. He was taken to the Lehighton hospital for a blood test. Charges will be filed with the county juvenile probation office.• Luke A. Danner, 28, of Red Hill, Montgomery County, was stopped on Jan. 1 in the 300 block of Maple Terrace, Ross Township, after troopers responded to a complaint of several vehicles in a field doing off road driving. On scene officers found Danner the operator of one vehicle that left the field at a high rate of speed and was stopped. He was found to be under the influence and taken to the Palmerton hospital for a blood test.
