State police at Lehighton reported on the following driving under the influence arrests made by troopers over the past weekend.

Troopers said Bradley K. Lafaw, 27, of Lehighton, was stopped about 2:05 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, along Forest Inn Road, just south of Gun Club Road in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for a vehicle code violation.

He was found to be under the influence and also in possession of marijuana. He was placed under arrest for DUI and drug possession.

Also on Friday, about 9:30 p.m., troopers stopped Darren A. Higdon, 24, of Effort, along Old Route 115 at Hamilton South Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and also in possession of marijuana.

He was placed under arrest for DUI of a controlled substance and drug possession.

At 12:25 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, troopers stopped James Anthony Alsio Jr., 35, of Walnutport, along Route 248 near the Palmerton Exit, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for a vehicle code violation. At the stop a consent search of the vehicle was made and a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia were found.

Troopers said Alsio was arrested for DUI and drug charges.

At 1:20 a.m. on Sunday troopers stopped Tracy L. Burkhardt, 52, of Saylorsburg, along Hamilton South Road, west of Metzgar Road in Hamilton Township, Monroe County, for a vehicle code violation.

She was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.

Benjamin D. Faturos, 29, of Sciota, was stopped about 2:08 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, along Route 209 north of Weir Lake Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for traffic violations.

He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. He was transported to the Monroe County DUI Center for a blood test. Charges are to be filed, troopers said.
