The Blizzard of '69 has finally ended and the massive cleanup is set to begin. Almost 1 foot of snow fell throughout the region, followed by three days of heavy winds.

Drifts were reported to be as high as 12 feet as a result of the combination of snow and high wind.A mail truck that left Hazleton at 3:15 a.m. today didn't arrive in Lansford until five hours later.The howling wind blew a chimney off a house in Jim Thorpe and an ambulance became stuck in the snow while transporting a person to a local hospital.
