Jim Thorpe couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Barry Keith Frohnheiser Sr. of Jim Thorpe are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married July 10, 1965, at Zion United Church of Christ in Packerton by the Rev. James C. Popada. Mrs. Frohnheiser was given in marriage by her brother, Pastor Clyde Moyer Sr.Mrs. Frohnheiser is the former Darlene Jean Moyer, daughter of the late Halden Wentz-Mills Moyer of Parryville, who died when Darlene was 5 years old. She was raised by her mother, Charlotte E. Deutsch Moyer (Fronheiser) and stepfather, Albert Deutsch of Packerton.Mr. Frohnheiser is the son of the late Clayton Frohnheiser Sr. and Lillian (Goodhile) Frohnheiser, who passed away when Barry was a small child. He was raised by his mother's sister and husband, Harvey and Shirley (Goodhile) Ahner of Bowmanstown.Barry is now retired, but keeps very active doing what he loves most, which is helping his children with carpentry work and the occasional baby-sitting.Darlene loves feeding her pets and watching the television show, "The Long Island Medium."They have three children: Barry Keith Frohnheiser Jr. and his wife, Cheryl (Williams) Frohnheiser of Lehighton; Charlene Marie (Frohnheiser) Dimmick and her husband, Lee Alan Dimmick of Jim Thorpe; and Colette (Frohnheiser) Day and her husband, Brian Day of Jim Thorpe.They have seven grandchildren: Kristen Frohnheiser, Susie Frohnheiser, Amanda Frohnheiser, Paul Buck, Brittney Bretz, Kyle Bretz, Braxton Wisor, Adrianna Day and Tinley Day.They also have eight great-grandchildren, Kiana, Nadia, Tiana, Marcel, Hunter, Uriaha, Riley and Bethanny.The couple will celebrate July 11 at the Mauch Chunk Rod and Gun Club with friends and family, while the band Remember When and their Smokin' Oldies gives them a look at the past.
