Panther Valley returns Monday

The first day of the 2014-15 school year for students in the Panther Valley School District is Monday.

It will be a full day, said Dennis R. Kergick, superintendent.High school students, grades 9-12, attend from 7:35 a.m. to 2:10 p.m.Middle school students, grades 6-8, attend from 8 a.m. to 2:52 p.m.Elementary students, grades 1-5, have classes from 8:58 a.m. to 3:27 p.m.A.M. sessions of kindergarten classes, for children from Coaldale and Lansford, are from 8:58 to 11:35 a.m.P.M. sessions of kindergarten for children from Nesquehoning and Summit Hill are from 12:45 to 3:22 p.m.Cafeteria prices for the new year are: High school, $2.45; middle school, $2.35; and elementary school, $2.35. Breakfast is free.The district has 115 full-time and three part-time teachers.
