Blue Mountain Health System will co-sponsor an AARP Driver Safety 8-hour Basic Course on Wed., June 12 and Thurs., June 13. On June 12, class will be from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and on June 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Both sessions at the Bowmanstown Medical Plaza, 204 Bank St. in Bowmanstown. This is an 8-hour class, so you must attend both days.

The course is designed for drivers 50 years of age or older and is classroom instruction only. Drivers who complete the AARP Driver Safety Course will receive a certificate which entitles them to a rate reduction on auto insurance. People who are interested in taking the course should confirm with their auto insurance company as to the discount percentage. The usual discount is five percent, and the certificate is valid for three years. AARP membership is not required.There is a fee to cover books and supplies: AARP members, $12; non-members, $14. Proof of AARP membership is required. Class size is limited and registration is required at (610) 377-7070. Please bring your own snacks and beverages.
