A Summit Hill man who helped distribute crack and powder cocaine in Carbon County will serve three years and one month in prison, followed by four years of probation.
Alexander "Butch" Sommers, 48, was sentenced Wednesday by Senior United States District Judge Edwin M. Kosik, Scranton.
Sommers pleaded guilty to the crimes committed between January 2011 and December 2012, according to U.S. Attorney Peter Smith.
Sommers was indicted by a federal grand jury on Oct. 30, 2012, after an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Nesquehoning and Lansford police departments.
Previously, Sommers' former girlfriend, Victoria Argott, 34, of Lansford, was sentenced to three years and four months in federal prison for participating in the same cocaine trafficking conspiracy.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert J. O'Hara.
