Palmerton woman receives probation

Amber Reenock, 29, of Palmerton, was placed on probation by a Carbon County judge Tuesday for six months on a charge of simple assault.

She previously pleaded guilty to the charge.She was arrested for an incident at 44 E. Water St. by Lansford police. She was charged with assaulting her mother, Roxanne Reenock.Tuesday her mother stood with her at sentencing asking the court to impose a probationary sentence.Her mother told Matika that she and her daughter had been drinking before the incident and both were to blame for what happened.In addition to the probation term Judge Joseph J. Matika ordered Reenock to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 25 hours of community service.She must also pay court costs, which average about $1,000, and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
