Town's 150th anniv.

The parade to commemorate Weatherly's 150th Anniversary is slated for Saturday, Oct. 5. The parade is expected to step off around 2:30 p.m., with participants being asked to be in place for the start of the parade by 2 p.m.

The line of march will begin at Tweedle Park, located on Weatherly's west side of town. Parade participants will be staged throughout the neighborhood that borders Tweedle Park and will be assigned to a specific street for staging.Instead of traveling down Plane Street after leaving the park, the parade will travel down West Main Street before stepping out onto Plane Street and continuing until the bridge.At that point the parade will turn left and cross the bridge, following the traditional Weatherly parade route from there going in front of the Weatherly Borough building on Wilbur Street before turning left onto First Street for one block.At the intersection of First and Carbon streets, the parade will turn right onto Carbon Street and continue to Second Street, where the parade will again turn left, following Second Street to the intersection of Second and Blakeslee, where the parade will turn right toward Eurana Park.The parade will conclude at Eurana Park, where parade participants will be treated to refreshments provided by the Weatherly 150th Anniversary Committee.Participants are still welcome to register and may do so by contacting Donnell Stump at (570) 579-8801 or by email at
