Thefts, other incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating thefts and criminal mischief incidents.

Troopers said Jennifer Keiper, 52, of 10 Mountain View Drive, Gilbert, Polk Township, Monroe County, reported that she sent a money order for $4,200 for the purchase of a Bobcat T300 listed for sale. The incident occurred on Oct. 20. She never received the Bobcat. The investigation into the incident is continuing, troopers said.Troopers are probing an incident at the Bay Wash Car Wash located at SR209 and Mill Pond Rd., in Polk Township. Unknown persons pried open a dollar bill vending machine section of a soda machine and took about $6 in cash but caused damages of $200. The incident occurred sometime between 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, and 8 a.m. on Sunday.Eastern PA Gymhanna Association, 775 Stoney Ridge Rd., in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon Coutny, reported property valued at $90 was stolen sometime between Oct. 17-21 from their premises.Troopers said a Pepsi machine located at Borgers Gulf Station, SR209, in Polk Township, was pried open and the money dispenser/coin deposit box removed. Taken was about $50 in cash and coins. The incident occurred sometime between 7 p.m. Saturday and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.Robert Smith, 51, of Box 6A, Kunkletown Rd., Kunkletown, Eldred Township, Monroe County, reported someone damaged the aluminum screen door on his home about 1:15 a.m. on Friday.Holga Atienne, 32, of 329 Squirrel Wood Court, Effort, Polk Township, reported someone destroyed her specialty mailbox valued at $175.
