Tamaqua man facing drug charges waives hearing

A Tamaqua man arrested on drug charges stemming from an April 17 incident was scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua last Tuesday, but elected to waive the procedure and await trial in Schuylkill County court.

Travis Stephen Hill, 30, of 63 Bowe St., was charged with four felony counts of manufacture/ delivery/possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and one count each of possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.The charges were filed by Tamaqua Patrolmen Anthony Stanell and Thomas Rodgers.Hill remains free on $10,000 straight cash bail.A number of other defendants scheduled for hearings before Judge Bayer also elected to waive their rights.Danielle M. Fulton, 25, of 235 Brown St., Tamaqua, was charged with theft by unlawful taking, theft of lost/misplaced property and receiving stolen property. The charges stem from a June 9 incident and were filed by Tamaqua Patrolman Stanell.She was released on her own recognizance.George J. Bonetsky, IV, 35, of 262 Fourth St., Coaldale, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, receiving stolen property and retail theft. The charges were filed by Rush Township Patrolman Corey Herring following an April 29 incident. The receiving stolen property charge was withdrawn.He was released on his own recognizance.Alyssa Bensinger, 25, of 22 Hunter St., Tamaqua, will face trial on charges of simple assault and retail theft filed by Rush Patrolman Herring. The charges stem from a June 5 incident.She was released on her own recognizance.Mason Alexander Williams, 18, of 120 W. Abbott St., Lansford, was also charged by Patrolman Herring. The charges included driving under the influence (DUI) by a minor and making/repairing/selling an offensive weapon. Two charges of corruption of a minor were withdrawn. The charges stem from a June 8 incident.He was released on his own recognizance.Thomas A. Armbruster Jr., 60, of 236 Ore St., Bowmanstown, was charged with DUI of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to stop at a red traffic signal and DUI of Metabolite. The charges were filed by Rush Patrolman Adam Sinton following a Feb. 10 incident.He was released on his own recognizance.Jason P. Tessitore, 29, of 300 Ridge Terrace, Coaldale, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, by McAdoo Patrolman Steven Homanko, following an April 8 incident.He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.Kyle Jacob Merenda, 18, 57 Shady Lane, Barnesville, faces charges of manufacture/deliver/possess with intent to deliver a controlled substance, conspiracy to manufacture/deliver/possess with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was charged by McAdoo Patrolman William Curilla following a May 7 incident.He was released on $5,000 percentage bail.Renee A. Keefer, 25, of 212 S. Kennedy Drive Rear, McAdoo, was charged with criminal attempt of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, theft from a motor vehicle, criminal attempt of access device fraud and conspiracy by Kline Township Police Chief John Petrilla. The charges stem from a June 24 incident.She was released on her own recognizance.Keefer was also charged with conspiracy by McAdoo Patrolman Anthony DiVirgilio following the same incident.Sara M. Fletcher, 22, of 212 S. Kennedy Drive Rear, McAdoo, was also charged by McAdoo Patrolman DiVirgilio following the above mentioned June 24 incident. In addition to theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and theft from a motor vehicle, she was charged with two felony counts of forgery, access device fraud and conspiracy.She too was released on her own recognizance.
