Palmerton Area Library lists upcoming events

The Palmerton Area Library located at 402 Delaware Ave. in Palmerton will be offering a new series of Computer Classes beginning in March.

Classes offered will include beginners, advanced (which will cover word processing and excel), basic digital camera operation and photo editing and learning the iPad/tablet and other mobile devices. Classes are taught at the library on Thursdays evenings. Class size is limited and the classes fill up quickly so call the library at 610-826-3424 or stop by if you wish to sign up.The library is planning a number of events for the coming year. On March 30 the library will host its annual Photography Show from 2 to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.April is National Library Month. The library will celebrate by sponsoring the annual bookmark contest for students in preschool through sixth grade. Watch for more information on how to enter in the coming months. The library will also be hosting an event to honor and thank all the library volunteers from 2013.In May the library will host a one-woman art show featuring the work of Edith Roeder. The show will be in the upstairs gallery from May 17-30. Then in June the library will host the annual Student Art Show from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, June 8. All students in grades kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to submit their artwork.The library is currently conducting its annual fund drive.
