Dorothy and Edward Rummel of Tamaqua are celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary. They were married on Oct. 21, 1949.
The couple has four children: two sons, Donald of Hometown and Terry of Ocala, Fla.; and two daughters, Susan Sanders of Tamaqua and Sandra of Newford, N.C.
They also have six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Rummel is the former Dorothy Herring of Barnesville.
Before retiring, she worked at the former Sprite Manufacturing Company in Tamaqua.
Mr. Rummel worked for 46 years in the newspaper industry before retiring.
He served in World War II with the U.S. Army's 67th Tank Battalion, 2nd Armored Division and was also a volunteer firefighter, ambulance driver and member of the Tamaqua Fire Police.
