Members of the Tamaqua Community Arts Center are hosting a free open mic (mike) night today from 6-9 p.m. at the center.
Entertainers Jack Kulp and Doug Betz will be hosting this event. Kulp added that this event is for all ages and levels of talent. Sign-up starts at 5:30 p.m. Artist should bring their own instruments, amplifiers (if needed) and CD/MP3. A trap set, PA, piano, organ and two microphones will be provided.
"This is a loud room, so no amps bigger than a 2x12 combo amp," said Kulp, who stressed that this is not a karaoke event.
If you wish to perform to a CD or an mp3, you must bring it.
Performers will be called on stage in the order in which they signed up. Each performer gets three songs or 10 minutes of stage time.
The center is located at 125 Pine St. in Tamaqua.
