State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes probed by troopers.
A one-vehicle crash was reported about 5:55 p.m. on Oct. 1 along Jonas Road, near Camp Trexler Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Damon W. Harper, 17, of Kunkletown, was driving a 1990 Chevrolet CK1500 truck eastbound when he said a car, traveling westbound, was in his lane of travel. He was forced off the road and onto the south shoulder where his truck traveled about 160 feet before striking a utility pole. After impact with the pole the truck continued another 150 feet before striking a tree and coming to rest.
Harper was not injured. He was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
A one-vehicle crash was reported at 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 2 along Rolling Hills Road, near Kunkletown Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County. Jillian Leigh Buss, 34, of Saylorsburg, was westbound and did not see a blind curve in the road and veered onto the berm. Her vehicle rolled off the embankment and onto its roof along the shoulder. Buss was not injured.
Troopers probed an incident at 2:13 p.m. on Oct. 2 along SR248 in Bowmanstown, Carbon County. Troopers said Matthew A. Toggas, 26, of Emmaus, was driving a 2009 Ford F350 truck when his truck caught fire and burned. He was not injured and managed to pull off the road in safety.
A one-vehicle crash was reported at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 4 along Forest Inn Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Thomas B. Berger Jr., 31, of Palmerton, was driving a 2011 Kawasaki ZX-R6 motorcycle westbound and coming out of a left hand curve when he lost control. He laid the bike down and skidded about 15 feet onto the shoulder and came to rest.
Berger sustained a minor injury and taken to the Palmerton Hospital for further evaluation. Berger was wearing a helmet.
Troopers said another one-vehicle crash occurred at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, along SR209 in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Nicholas W. Talamonti, 23, of Effort, was driving a 2002 Volkswagen Passat northbound and driving too fast when the vehicle hydroplane. He lost control and struck a tree. Talamonti was not injured. He was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
A one-vehicle crash occurred aobut 5:39 p.m. on Monday along SR209 in Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said James L. Wickham, 58, of Lehighton, was driving a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica southbound when a deer entered the road in front of him. He was unable to avoid hitting the animal, troopers said.
Wickham and passengers Kathleen Wickham, 56, and Annette Rakes, 76, of Lehighton, were all not injured.
